Which one is an easier way to communicate with someone ?

a) face to face conversation.
b) via text message.

I choose ‘a’ because most of the time texting or IM-ing (or chatting) can send out a wrong impression if the text is interpreted wrongly.

Well, I have my own experience. There’s one person who doesn’t talk much with me in person but decided to text and chat with me instead, surprisingly he got a lot to say to me online than in real life.

I got that, some people are just too shy to speak directly in person but what I find annoying is when this person decided to say things that I didn’t like. Trying too hard to make a conversation with me online. Sorry, I found it awkward.

My point is, be brave to have a face to face conversation…

First of all I’m not gonna talk about religion here it just happened that my favorite McDonald’s burger which is pictured above have religious background around its invention, at least from what I’ve read in howstuffworks and research from Wikipedia.

In the 60s one of the McD franchise is set up in an area where the Catholic population is large and during that time Catholics aged 14 years and above abstained from eating meat on every Friday (don’t worry, nowadays this practice is only done on Lent ).

So the owner, Lou Groen was thinking on ways to attract Catholics to eat at McD on Friday and he came up with the idea of making ‘fish burger’, the burger become popular among the Catholics there and the rest is history.

No wonder I feel ‘enlightened’ when I ate one of these.

I've bought a freaking fake perfume ! ! !

I guess you guys know that I'm a perfume freak and willing to spends hundreds of ringgits on perfume alone.

Of course this hobby came with a risk and one of them is ending up buying fake perfume. How do I know my perfume is fake? Well:-

The package looked like it has been lazily copied, especially the bar code which is printed using low quality ink.
The perfume smell like vinegar after a while
The smell lasts like 30 minutes and disappeared and it has no projection at all, it means nobody near me can smell it, which is not supposed to happen because perfume should make me more attractive.

The thing that pissed me off is that I've paid the same price as the genuine one... So all fragrance fans out there only buy your perfume at trusted dealer, I think Parkson, Metrojaya and Sasa should be fine...

P/S: Planning to buy new bottle, CH 212 Sexy Men or ck one Shock for men..

I didn't realize that I've left the blogosphere for such a long time, you guys might know this but I just want to clarify that I've actually been working for the past couple of months and during that period my access to the Internet was totally limited.

Another news is I've moved from small town to a big city, so the transition is so vast that I have to spend time to collect myself and eventually neglect my blog. I have so many materials to post here but given the nature of my current job not every single thing can be posted here, I know y'all love a little bit of gossip...

When I'm hurt, I want others to get hurt too

Ouch!

What do you feel when someone hurt your feelings? For me I have this bad habit where I like to hurt back the person that's been hurting me, I know, inappropriate right.

But I'm not talking about small kinda hurting here, most of the time it was because that person hurt my feelings so much that I feel he or she deserved to be hurt as well.

One time there's this person who promised to spend time with me but eventually bailed on me for other people, I was hurt because I've freakin spend like tons of money and time just to make sure I was available for that person but end up spending the time alone, the person even give me like the most unacceptable reason.

So what do I do? Of course I get even and end up hurting that person's feeling.

Am I a bad guy? I think so...

Am I selfish? Not really, because that person should think about the consequences before getting me hurt.

Discouragement Is The Way Of Love

I recently got an offer to work at some place far away from my hometown, so right now I'm gon' be busier than before with all the works and stuff but before that I have to find a nice and suitable place for me to stay.

But I'm gon' talk about that in another post and right now I wanna share with you guys things that I've been realizing these days.

I don't know if it ever happened to y'all but it definitely happened to me most of the time. It goes like this, like when every time I did something or wanna do something, I get this words of discouragement from people around me.

So here are some examples... when I got straight A for my PMR my folks said "It was just your luck", I mean I know I work my ass off for that exam so it's unfair for me.

On another occasion I decided to told them (which I regret) that I've joined a singing competition and they were laughing and they were like "You ! Sing !", followed by another trail of laughter.

And then recently when I got a job offer they gave me this "You got offered, oh... I think you're the only person they interviewed that's why you got it", I was like ... speechless I guessed.

I got tons of other example but I guessed the above was enough, I think it's the Asian culture where discouragement is considered as motivation, I don't know, but of course I need some encouragement once in a while, don't you think so?

The Other Uses of Condom

Yep,right. That's an actual condom over a microphone held by a Chinese reporter.

As a matter of fact the practice of using condom on top of a microphone is pretty standard, to serve as a protection for the mic from any moisture, as you can see in the video the man is reporting about the weather and it was clearly wet there with all the waves crashing and stuffs, so better be safe than sorry.

Also in Vietnam, they use condom to protect M16 (that's a name of a gun) from getting wet.

Never Lie In An Interview

I had a job interviews last week (after like 20 applications !). I think I did a great job for a first interview but I screwed up on the 'hard skill' question, so advice for job seeker out there, do study everything about the job you're applying.

In the first interview I was being too honest. They ask me if I'm willing to be relocated and I straight away answered them that I prefer to be near my hometown which I think is not the answer they're looking for but on the positive side they thought my English was good and I am actually friendly.

Then I thought I shouldn't be too honest for the next interview and when the second interviewer (in the second interview) asked me if I played sport I was hesitant to answer at first because I don't like sports that much. But I said 'yes' anyway and he asked what kinda sports.Guess what my answer is... - freakin' ping pong a.k.a. table tennis.

I thought I can't get away with that but he replied with "Oh great, we need someone to teach these people about ping pong and you can be the best candidate". I was like "I'm screwed"... Y'all know I don't play ping pong ! ! !

But, anyway I should get the interview result within this week, wish me luck, I gotta watch some ping pong vids on YouTube, y'all know, just in case...

A long time ago I made my policy which is to not write anything personal in my blog because of the unknown circumstances that might happened as a result of the post, but I think this one should be an exception.

First of all let me tell you about Jessica, she's a character from True Blood series. Although she looked like a good girl, she's constantly struggling with some bad urges inside her which is affecting her daily life.

But I'm not here to tell you about Jess, I'm here to talk about something that has been disturbing me for years because I have done something terrible which is kinda unforgivable.

I have a conflict with a person, I have been trying to find a way to settle this problem but the other side doesn't seem to care.

The other person decided to get over this thing and walk away, leaving me and it seems pretty easy for 'em.

I haven't jump to that yet, because I believe I can sort this thing out but I can't do it alone. So what should I do, should I just forget about it and start my new life and just forget that we have been friend for a long time.

Obviously, I can do that, I mean I can't push 'em to be my friend again, right? But, I don't think it's easy maybe because I'm scared that if I didn't make this right the person is gonna think bad about me. Isn't that selfish? I mean, I need to settle this problem just to clean my tainted reputation?

I'm fine if they want to isolate me, but I just want to find a proper way to end this thing.

If I decided to start a new life, that means I'm erasing them from my memories, them are those who I think were parts of my bad memories. It ain't gon' be easy.

I think it will be selfish if I decided not to let them go, so from now on, I'm going to let them go and wish them well, right now, that is the best thing I can possibly do.

What's Cooking ?

I've never been a big fan of cooking show but add some reality show flare to it and I'm in !

Star World (astro CH711) had become this trashy channel that I think has been encouraging women to be some materialistic vain person (same goes to you DIVA Universal ! Give me Hallmark back !).

"Nice logo but Ke$ha? Really?"

Anyway, I have few favorite shows on that channel, one of it is Hell's Kitchen which is currently on its 9th season (US) and the 8th season was on Star World.

If y'all don't know what Hell's Kitchen it, don't worry just Google it, it's a cooking competition show hosted by mouthy billionaire celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay.

I enjoyed watching this particular season because of the casts, from the Jersey Shore-ish Vinny to the bitchy Sabrina but my personal favorite is of course, Boris, cause he reminded me of someone.

I've watched the entire season and restrained myself from checking Wikipedia for spoilers and I was glad [SPOILER ALERT] that Nona won over Russell because personally, I think Russell is an uptight person and you don't wanna go near an uptight person.

Yes, this show also gave me inspiration to learn a little bit about cooking and stuff, yep, yeah that's bout it and before I go just want to informed you guys that Masterchef Malaysia is coming to town ! Yay !!! Malaysia itself got few big name in the culinary industry, yes he's been in Oprah too ! That's of course is our very own, Chef Wan and I admitted that I have a little bit of shock when I knew that he's married with two children.

Clorox or Cocorex

Ugh, finally my mum (noticed that I mentioned my mum twice already, yep, that's cause I'm living with my parents now) realised that 'Cocorex' and 'Clorox' is not the same thing.

For your information Clorox is the famous known bleach and Cocorex is a rip-off of Clorox. Before this my mum will just grab any bottle that shaped like Clorox without even looking at the brand.

But I still don't know whether Cocorex and Clorox are under the same distributor here in Malaysia, because if they weren't, why doesn't Cocorex get sued, probably because 80% of the bleach market in Malaysia is held by Clorox (citation needed) and Clorox won't care less about the other brand when Clorox itself is monopolizing the bleach industry.

For your information, the brand Clorox is also a synonym for the word bleach in Malaysia regardless of the brand, we don't call the bleach as bleach or Cocorex or Vanish or peluntur, we called them as simply - Clorox.

Transparent Bathroom Wall

For our future family trip my mum was browsing the web to find places to stay. At first I was suggesting her the 'no star hotel with the 5 star experience' but she flinched when I told her that the bathroom wall will be transparent.

"AWKWARD !"

I mean why make it transparent, yeah sure it's sexy when you're with someone 'special' but not a good idea when you're staying with your dad or some cheeky niece with a camera phone.

I won't trade aesthetic with some privacy. Anyway we've decided which hotel we will book and it'll definitely the one with a proper wall.

KFC's Ole Pocketful Unboxing

You guys might be familiar with the 'unboxing' concept, it's basically just the writer unboxing something and showed what's inside that stuff to the readers.

Kentucky Fried Chicken Malaysia had recently launched a new tasty treat called Ole Pocketful, not so new cos' it's actually a pocket shaped version of the ridiculously french bread shaped KFC Twister and the have released the same thing way back when with an even ridiculous name - Banditto Pockett ! Back in 2010 the same thing is released but with a lightly boring name, Toasted Pocketful.

Recently, I have a chance to taste the so-called new Ole Pocketful in my local KFC which of course, paid all by myself. I bought the combo which includes Mountain Dew and Wedges, also, with every purchase of the combo you get to buy a die-cast mini Mini Cooper car for MYR5 and the car is also included with a signatu... nope! you only get the mini car, nothing else.

Notice how in the ad above, the chicken, the chips, the sauce and everything inside the tortilla bread are like struggling to get out as if the pocket is so full of everything, well KFC is 'full' of it ! See it for yourself...

"UNBELIEVABLE !!!"

Ugh, instead of getting what shown in the ad, I got a pocketful (more like half pocketful!) of this with a burnt pita bread. So, an ad is an ad they wanted to attract you and to escape from getting complaint letter from customer they stick a little warning - "Serving and items featured are for illustration purpose only", well they should add "Don't expect the real thing to be close to this"

So I put the thing in my mouth and it actually taste good especially the combination of the sauce and the pineapple bits with the Colonel's chicken.

There it is, my Ole Pocketful unboxing, the good thing about this is this item is unique to KFC because there are no other fast food outlet that offer this thing unless you go to some sort of Mexican restaurant which I doubt its existence. The bad thing... well, I've said it in the whole post. I was trying to take some picture of the things inside the 'pocketful' but the KFC crew were starting to notice my behavior, you know that I don't like being noticed in public.

MALAYSIA'S UNDER ATTACK

Due to the popularity of this issue I decided not to blog about it because it's already everywhere but I changed my mind after the news anchor in a local news show deliver a community message that stated hacking is a serious legal issue and at that time I was like "OMG, this is going too far already and I should blog about it !" and also my application in a government website has been denied and I blamed the hackers !

For those who's been living under the rock for some reason, Malaysia has been under attack (cyber attack actually) by hackers who called themselves as Anonymous.

It started with this video, which is a warning about the cyber attack on malaysia.gov.my on 15 June...

Anonymous are targeting government websites because of the banning of several website such as The Pirate Bay and WikiLeaks by the government.

This image is also used by the group as a propaganda;

If you think the image above is familiar that's because that is actually a character from V for Vendetta, the character called V wanted to destroy the totalitarian government. One of the skill possessed by this character is guess what - yes, computer hacking.

For your information the Anonymous group is a web group famously known for their government hacking skill. They even have a Twitter account where they will announced their next target. Some of the members have been arrested in Spain and Turkey and even India.

Malaysia was not mentioned in their tweet but the group itself have no fixed, should I say headquarters and they're freaking everywhere, so some people can used the name of Anonymous to do their deeds but who cares because anyone can be Anonymous. Investigation in Malaysia shows that the hacking is done locally.

So far this topic is still hot, so when do this hacking stop? Will Malaysia give what the hackers wanted? What action will the hackers do if the government didn't submit to their request? Will it be a real life Die Hard 4 event? The answer is...

ANOTHER MOVIE ABOUT TALKING ANIMALS

This July (or August in Malaysia) another movie about talking animals called 'The Zookeeper' starring Kevin James of The King Of Queens sitcom will be released.

The synopsis from IMDb says;

The animals at one particular zoo decide to break their code of silence in order to help their lovable zookeeper gain the attention of one particular woman.

From the trailer, the animals from the zoo sort of becoming 'The Hitch' ( oh yes, Kevin James is in this movie too, he's the dude who learn from Will Smith on how to kiss) and they decided to guide him to win the heart of the girl using animal instinct. Hopefully there's a lesson to be learned from this movie.

McDonald Is Having A 'Seriously' Issue

Nope, that's not a grammatical error, if you guys have been an avid Twitter user you guys might have stumbled upon this particular picture . . .

Yes, let me summarize the picture; MCDONALD F**KIN' HATE BLACKS !

According to Yahoo! News people have been accusing McDonald for being racist right after the picture was widely circulated. People believed that the fast food chain had been using this $1.50 fee for being black as an insurance due to recent robbery strings.

The phrase 'Seriously McDonald' had been used by internet users to captioned the picture.

And then, just like the story of the lesbian Syrian gay girl aka Aminah Abdallah this picture was proved to be a hoax but it was too late and the damage is already done and McDonald was already in deep shit.

The origin of the pic is currently unknown but it was actually released years before in a now moved anti-McD blog. However some people who was familiar with the number posted on the picture (800-225-5532) knew that the picture was hoax because that number is actually belongs to Kentucky Fried Chicken and this also indicates that those people also eat a lot of Colonel Chicken.

The moral of the story is don't just simply believe anything that was posted on the internet without searching for proof first like one time when people posted a picture of an innocent priest who was accused to be some sort of . . . OK, let's stop here before I put myself in deep shit.

Who Will Win Akademi Fantasia 9 ?

After 2 year hiatus, finally I've got the chance to watch the final season of Akademi Fantasia before it goes off air for good.

I started to watch it in the 8th week of the show where only 5 contestants were left in the running, so am I impressed with the remaining 5, hmm... not really, but based on the two concerts left before the final I think the winner is already predictable.

Of course, on the 9th week, another student, Erul was eliminated.

So, among the remaining four, who will be the last winner of Akademi Fantasia ?

I decided to put Azri in this position because looking at the voting result pattern he always end up at the bottom, As stated by Dato' Siti Nurhaliza, he has the best deep male voice she ever heard which according to my ear is so-so, but there are reasons to keep this fella in the glass house because of his personality and good looking (he might not be the best looking fella but if you look at the other guys then you'll agree with me). Adlin Aman Ramli decision to make him take his shirt off in public might be the reason why he advanced to the final :-)

She sounds like Stacy (from AF 6 fame) ! She might have some attitude problem which explained her near elimination on week 8. Before Hazama and Fina admission to AF, Lena had always been on the top spot and that indicates the existence of her strong supporters and even after that she managed to stay on the Top 3 position but her performance from week to week is spiraling down, but given the number of voters she got I think this girl will definitely get in the Top 3 spot (or maybe runner up, except for Season 1, Season 6 and Season 7, Sabahan always managed to get the No.2 spot)

This girl is so popular and I don't know why (mainly because I didn't watched the show), she managed to stay in the top spot and even got the immunity votes which secured her place in the final. She kinda reminded me to previous AF student, Edlin, because of her voice. I think she can survive the industry because she is fresh and she can maybe be another AF student turned spokesperson.

I feel betrayed when he got in AF 9 because he was already an established artiste and even work for several programs organized by astro. I think the producer decided to put him in the competition for rating. He is undeniably the best performer in the bunch but given his experience in the show biz that will not be as impressive. However, looking at his performance, popularity, votes and the comments from the jury, Hazama will definitely going to get the title, but does winning AF gave you a guaranteed success in the industry? I doubt that :-)

The standard of beauty nowadays was likely to be blamed but a recent study shows that the way we percieved our external look is actually determined by how aware we are to our internal states.

Like for example, some people might think their hands are bigger when they are actually not or in some cases some people might think they are thin when they are actually morbidly obese...

Recently British scientists had come up with an experiment to see the people's awareness of their body internal states.

I know y'all won't read that article, so I just summarized it, how nice of me ...

the scientists conducted two tests, in the first test all subjects were asked to count their heartbeats without checking their pulse. People who can count their heartbeats accurately, have higher internal body awareness while those that can't have lower awareness.

" On the other hand, this guy can count other people's heartbeats"

For the next test, the subjects were tested on how well their external body perception is, in an less-scientific words they wanna test whether the subject are able to see an accurate representation of themselves when they look at their image in the mirror.

For this test they use the rubber hand illusion

In this test, one of the subjects' hand were hidden from their view and a rubber hand was placed near their actual hand.

then both the rubber and the real hands were stroked using a brush and after 30 seconds the subject started to feel like the rubber hand was hers, after a few minutes the subject started to forget about their real hand indicated by the drop of temperature in their hand.

Remember the group that have less accurate result of their heartbeat count ?
That group were likely to say "I feel like the rubber hand was mine !" (probably in English accent). The temperature of their actual hand also drop much lower compared to the other group (the one who have more internal awareness).

So they concluded that people with little internal self awareness are more likely to perceived they external body less accurately, one example of that kinda person is moi... unfortunately.

Just taking you guys to a look down memory lane where we'll be looking at favorite pastimes that was all the rage at that time and seems to be fading nowadays, some are still here but not as popular as it was yesterday and some just disappeared.

Paper Art

I don't know what to call this one but it involves folding a piece of rectangular paper into a triangular shape and connecting those pieces to build something such as a bird like you saw in the picture above. The owner of the picture above took 5 years to complete the bird.

I remember every stationery shops sell the rectangular paper and it ain't cheap so most people create their own rectangle paper (which is not easy I told ya !). Sadly today, it's not common to see this art been sold or even displayed.

Plastic Straw Rose

My sister and my cousin is crazy about this !

This one involve cutting a special type of straw (same like the one you use to drink but this one is slightly flimsier). It used a special type of tools which is a small razor attached at the end of a stick to cut the straw. Then, the straw is folded into a rose shape.

This one required special skill especially the folding part and did I tell you when we were doing this back in the days there's a lot of blood spilled due to the sharpness of the razor used.

Stickers

This one is still around but it was not as hot as it was.

There's a lot of type but the popular one (in my school) is the plastic one and we even trade it with each other, but now it seems like nobody cares about them, just look at your nephew/niece generation...

Trading Cards Game

This one was probably new, there's Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and more. I'm never good at playing this one tho'. The generation that have been introduced with this game had moved on I guess.

Electronic Pet

The picture above is the counterfeit version of Tamagotchi (sadly I own one).

Tamagotchi is made for girls while for the guys they got Digimon. One of my guy friend own a Digimon which required to be shake with a rather sexual gesture.

Friendster

Some friendster avid fan will definitely be mad at me because this site is still around and people are still using it but to be honest most of my friends are moving to you know... facebook, twitter, etc. so this one can be considered as favorites that become forgotten.

I don't like the new logo so I put up the old one there.

I think I'm not the only person who let the tap running when doing number two. Admit it we all think the sound that we make during that session can be embarrassing especially the days when we have ate something bad.

So what you gon' do to mask those humiliating dropping or wind sound you made and going green at the same time, worst, some public toilet don't even have taps and you have to constantly pull the flush to make the cubicle poop-drop-sound-proof.

On my visit to KL last year, I went to one of the toilet in a shopping mall and they have a solution for this problem.

Yep. They play loud music in the toilet. UK government can take a cue here.

At first it was annoying because of the loud music but as soon as you notice that you didn't notice the sound of your shit reaching the bottom of the toilet bowl, you'll be like "Awesome!" Plus, you can even sing along because everyone was so distracted with how awesome the loud music playing toilet is they don't even care about your shitty vocal.

So there you go, a simple but effective solution. No more embarrassing sound, no more wasting of water, and you can call yourself an environmentalists without even having to own a hybrid car.

However instead of random song, how about playing the Brown Noise. Brown Noise is a sound with a certain frequency that can make you lose control of your bowel movement, that's scientific way to say shit in your pants.

The Story of Shadow People

WARNING: Don't read this in the dark !

I don't usually talk about paranormal thing in this blog but I've read something about shadow people in a website and I it actually reminded me of an incident in my school, well, not actually an incident but two and one of it involved me.

A bit about shadow people, it is actually a type of spirit which appear like a figure of shadow but of course with eyes and other shit, people actually see them in peripheral vision which is at the side of our stereoscopic vision (scientific much!). It's been seen everywhere in the world and involved something evil.

These stories happened in my school... well, shit like this happens all the time in boarding school, trust me!

The first one was witnessed by a bunch of students who arrived from the night class. When they pass a room next to the praying room, they saw a shadow figure sitting on one of the bed. They thought it was someone but they were shocked to see the figure was only shadow.
They summoned the prefect to open the room but the figure disappeared.

The next story happened to me...
It was early in the morning and our bathroom has no light so we have to take shower in the dark. It was 4am and there's already a bunch of people walking around so I'm not scared at all.
Then I enter the bathroom and I saw a shadow figure at my back from the reflection of the mirrors in the bathroom and it entirely blocked the light from the outside making the bathroom pitch black. I was panicking and freaking out and I rushed out of the room and I swear that I saw a hooded figure walk (well, not walking because I don't see no legs) into one of the toilet cubicle.

[oh gosh, I'm having goosebumps already]... well do y'all think I'm lying? Well, my story is arguable because it's 4 am and I just woke up so the shadow thing must've been my hallucinations right... but what about the experience with the group of students who saw it together ? So do you guys had ever encounter the shadow people ? Better not wish for it...

That was the real excerpt taken from that site and upon Google-searching I found out that mono di-glycefides (bolded for reason) is not a real food additives.

Other than the non existant substance originated from pigs, the site also stated that the cherry is dipped in alcohol and the tiramisu contains rum.

E471 used in food product are normally from plant origin because of concern on vegetarians, Muslim, Jew, and mad cow disease, but it’s not impossible if there’s some trace of pig in there.

Personally I never tried the Raspberry frap myself , so no comment on the alcohol glazed cherries that.

I don’t know any drinks with the name Tiramisu on the menu or maybe they were talking about the cakes, but if they do put rum in it, HELL YEAH, I’M EATIN ONE !!!

But, I do research in the Halal Malaysia and found that Starbucks does have certificate which is valid until the Apocalypse (2012… duh… )

Well, is this hoax (made up by competition, Coffee Bean maybe ) or real? well, either way it won’t affect my relationship with Starbucks.

National Geographic announced that the most typical face in the planet currently is a man, 28 year old and he's Chinese from the Han tribe. The face is so typical they can be seen worn by 9 million men worldwide.

According to Yahoo! News by Liz Goodwin (gotta cite her in this post, no plagiarism intended) researchers had done research and they have the result shown in National Geographic as a part of their series "Population 7 Billion".

Researchers collect 200,000 photos of different men (28, Han Chinese) and combined them in a composite and the result is quite interesting ... and the result look like this...

Some infrastructure in my campus had been pimped for our benefits.

We have our own water cooler / water dispenser in our faculty... two of them to be exact ! Yay !!! Free water for everyone ! Remember water is important for our metabolism.

If you order a slice of cake they will give you free drinks before 3pm (i'm so getting -1 for drinking free coffee, so not classy).

so we were wondering whether the free drinks is still available so we ask the garcons there (another -1,perhaps)

and we got our cakes and then the garcons (garcons is like the waiter guy, +1 for using french) asked us what kind of tea we want.

He was like "what tea do you want sir? Earl Grey, Darjeeling, Ceylon, English, English Breakfast, et cetera..."

Silence falls...

I don't know that drinking tea is as hard as SPM, So much for a free cup of tea.

In my mind I was about to ask the definition of each of them but that will be like -200 marks if there is 200 in 100%. What happened to Lipton, Boh, 888 or other brands.

This show is like a rip-off version of ANTM, in every episode the contestants will be given a challenge, mini challenge, photo shoot and a show at the judging panel. Inn RPDR (that's RuPaul Drag Race) the girls, guys, girls... whatever got their announcement in She-Mail (equivalent to the ANTM's Tyra Mail, pun is definitely intended). It's not offensive for another queen to call another queen she-male.

KRIUK KRIUK !

I like Mi/Maggi Goreng, I don’t have any specific favourite but I always bought this brand which is imported from our neighbour country because they offered more choices. As you can see I’m avoiding myself from saying the brand’s name to avoid any hot soup from being poured to my face and that is actually a metaphor, i mean the hot soup is a metaphor…

“You get five seasonings instead of one, another exciting part of cooking mi goreng”

The special thing about this brand is they actually included an additional packet which contained something that they claimed to be bawang goreng (translation: fried onion?)

“and the company also produce this…”

The ‘bawang goreng’ thing is also called kriuk kriuk which in Indonesia is actually what we call here as keropok or that crispy leftover stuff you get when your fry chicken or pisang goreng.

The thing is it doesn’t look like the typical bawang goreng nor taste like one. So it’s often neglected and doesn’t get to be in the mi goreng (I’d like to show you a picture of our box of neglected kriuk kriuk but that could mean another law suit)

Why don’t we put it in our mi goreng? First, it taste like a burnt food and second it’s just weird to eat crispy noodle, you know the feeling of the noodle not well-cooked, that’s the feeling you get. besides, the physical appearance of the thing is quite creepy, we’ll never know what it was made from (remember the story of bawang goreng is actually made from plastic straw? that particular level of creepiness)

“Oh, and they make it 5X more, 5X more nightmare…”

Anyway, if anyone ask me “Meggi biasa or Meggi goreng”… you’ll definitely know what my answer will be…

Once in a while a men got to cross dress in the name of art just like what John Travolta did in Hairspray and others.

As you can see in the picture I played the most envied women in Twilight history for a play in my English class. I also direct,write, and produce the play although we didn’t win the Lecturer’s Choice award.

Six In The City

I’m a small town boy so for my internship I went to Kuala Lumpur, the experience cannot be described by words and I met five friends with colourful personality and every one of us is so different it was like a Power Rangers moment.

I Got Kicked Out of Campus and I Have to Stayed Outside

On the 1st semester of my life as 3rd Year Student more than hundreds of students was expelled from our hostel so we have to take our drenched self off the shore and live outside with non-student rate house rental. It was painful but the experience was priceless.

I seldom talked about this with other people because I don't want to come across as being racist but I think it's an interesting issue to blog about.

Whenever I met new people they always thought that I am Chinese because of my physical appearance, but the truth is I'm 100% not Chinese (although if you do some phylogenetic test or something it might be possible). I don't have problem with being mistaken as Chinese but the problem is the communication part. You see, they assumed that I speak Chinese so the next thing that happened is .... huh, awkward !!! These happened every single time, if I met a new Chinese person for the first time and he doesn't talk to me in Chinese that will make me happy.

That's not all, there's this incident in the airport where I was held by customs and were asked to used the green lane so they can check my luggage because they assumed that I'm a tourist from Macau.

Here's one more, when I was doing my internship in a local institute, one of the staff there talk to me in English because she assumed that I'm a Myanmar student, which at first I thought was kinda normal and I only found that out when she asked me about the education system in Myanmar.

The list goes on and on, and one time people thought me as "Mamat Siam" (Thailand Guy, suddenly Ong Bak comes across my mind).

I'm not gonna change my appearance though so I think maybe I should take Language class and learned a bit about all those language people thought I understand.

This is a facebook-related news. Before I begin I want to present to you two facts that are related with what I'm going to blog about.

Fact #1 : On December 6 recently, there was this huge facebook-wide thing going on where people on facebook have to changed their profile pictures to cartoon characters in order to give homage to abused children.

Fact #2 : This is from one of my facebook friend:

I like changing my hair color and I have premature grey hair problem which irritates me.

I want to dye my hair but I don't know what color should I pick, brunette is too safe and I like to have fun with my hair. One of them told thegossipgeek that the door can produce some sort of mushroom, or mushrooms…

“They weren’t there (the mushroom) but as soon as I sprinkled some water and shampoo they started to grow in matter of minutes,” told one of them.

The mushroom that will grow depends on the type of shampoo the door is exposed to, so far it was known that Herbal Essences produces Agaricus bisporus and Sunsilk will produces Volvariella volvacea although this is yet to be confirmed.

It was believed that the door had been made from magical wood which was once located in a forest where a shaman used to live.

Til now the door is still producing mushroom.

growing up means re-branding

just 2 months ago I turned 21 and 21 is a lucky number for most of us, first, we can vote on election and second we can enter the casino.

this blog has grown up with me and it has its own fan base, although small but it’s still a base, right.

i was thinking to myself why did i call this blog ‘thegossipgeek’, yep!, i was a fan of the show and if you guys notice, when this blog first came out it was a blog where i gossiped about people and talk dirt about them, but unlike the gossip girl i don’t have the anonymity to dish some dirt on other people’s life.

i get a few negative and positive responses, and the negatives always gives me the creep and that’s why almost half of this blog content is either deleted or unpublished because of those negatives thing.

so i’ve been re-branding my blog back and forth and that including my unsuccessful ‘the city’ - where i’m supposed to talk about my experience living in big cities for two months, and i did merge this blog with my other blog and most of them doesn’t interest people as much.

so next year i’m gonna be 22 and i’m going to graduate, so why not be thegossipgeek for another year before jumping into the world of career and job where blogging is almost never allowed. I might not be blogging as much as i do now, besides i' don’t want to get fired for talking bout my work place.

i don't know if this is true but i think some people assumed that i'm the type of person who can accept any words spoken to my face and guess what i'm not...

when that happened there will definitely be a moment of silence in between the conversation. i mean the words is not that harsh nor sensitive it's just that sometimes people just don't have answer for everything.

a friend of mine was actually asking for tips on what product should he buy, because he claimed that his face is not clean enough i guess... so he was asking for my opinion and my intention was only to help so i told him that he should get [product name removed] because it's kinda good and ok and i'm an user so i know if it's ok or not.

to my surprise, he was chuckling and he said ,"then why can i still see your pore (eventhough i'm not wearing my spectacles)"...

silence...

Whoa!!! I didn't see that one coming so with a red face i think I replied, "it's genetic,"

and he was like "genetic my ass" and continue laughing.

and one of my friend trying to break the awkwardness by supporting my answer, thanks bro...

so that was it, i'm not saying that i was hurt or anything, the moral of this story is sometimes there are certain words that certain people just can't answered and doesn't mean that the word is sensitive, it's just 'no answer'...

I wasn't aware of the existence of this phrase until I watch Angelea of America's Next Top Model (Cycle 14) fame...

So what exactly does it mean, I'm not sure about that but according to UrbanDictionary.com, the phrase is something that the brother in the hood or something equivalent to that said when they heard someone saying something stupid...

For example;

Benifa : I study like all day all night...

Brother in the hood (or something equivalent to it): Bish Please !

What we can tell from the dialogue above is, that the Miss Thangggg called Benifa is actually a lazy bish and that's why the brother said the phrase Bish Please ! when Benifa told 'em she's been studying. Get it?

Bish please can also be a verb, something that you do if you hear someone say something stupid, nonsense, etc.

Kinda hard to explain how this thing works, I just let this picture conclude it all...

I guess this type of scenario happened everywhere in a working space which is people with higher position acting douchey (acting like a douchebag) towards people in lower position.

I’m going to talk about my experience with this type of people. I was in this room with my friends doing something for our project and there was this guy and obviously he’s someone who is older than us and also in higher level of education.

We were doing our thing and suddenly he came to us and in a totally unexpected ways he was telling us to back off because he wanted to do his work there, like in a totally harsh ways of telling people.

Feeling devastated but we have to back off because we were actually in his room where he is the authority so… backing up, that’s what we’re doing. I understand perfectly if that was his personality and I suspected that he got some sand stuck in his vajayjay or something but then I was wrong… he was doing that kinda act to show that he’s the boss.

We were in the room again continuing our work after he stopped us and now our big boss is with us which is in higher position than the douchey guy previously. The guy wants to use the thing that we’re using again but this time he have to face the boss. Unsurprisingly he was as delightful as a cake when he was talking to us, so the conclusion is this guy is actually a douchebag, who was trying to make people lower than him miserable.

Imagine having to face him on daily basis, that’s tough! I just wish we could hang out or something but I guess we won’t.

This is why all the LAN cable port is damaged !!!

I am one of thousand users that access the net from my campus' library and now I found out that most port can't be used because someone (or something) has pulled it too hard to the point that it can't be used any longer.

So, today (on this day this was posted) I happened to catch one of the culprit, which I'm sure there were many and take a photo.

They ruined my favorite beverage, the nasty corporation ... they just have to ruined everything isn't it ! First it's maggi ! Now, nescafe !!! Soon they're gonna ruined MILO !!! Stop them !!!

What am I talking about? Have you guys tasted the new and supposedly "improved" Nescafe 3 - in 1? I did and it's bad, what happened to the good 'ol one?

Basically in an attempt to Starbucks-ed the drinks they made the nescafe looked more expensive by putting on some little bubble at the surface and it sucks ! I don't even know the purpose of the little nasty bubbles, maybe they're supposed to give you some tingly tickle when you touch em with your lips and it supposed to give you some 'coffergasm' or something...

They should be focusing on the taste of the coffee not the appearance, and it taste like detergent too (I wonder what chemical is added to make all those bubbles... *wonder*)

like other fame whore i always wished i can have like a TV show, my life is not as interesting as we all see in TV but there are few moments in my life that i thought are reality show worth moment... of course drama doesn't happened on daily basis around me but if there are any TV network want to give me a chance to have my own TV show or made a show inspired by my life here's what I'm going to pitch to them...

My 5 years in boarding school...

When I was 13 I was sent to a boarding school far away from my home (200 km is far away, in my standard)... there I learn a lot about life and being independent, I transformed myself with the help of 3 other friends... the show will involve lots of interesting thing like the bully issue (yes, lots of bullies in boarding school), but this show will wrapped up after 5 season because after high school we're going on our separate ways...

Bad Hair Days

Back when I was in high school I remember someone telling me this when she saw my legs;

"Euw... guys with hair on their legs are gross !!!"

That girl was one of my friend (and she's in my facebook too !!) and that very incident has an impact towards my perception on what girls think about body hair (or leg hair). Apparently, girls these days are fascinated with men that are shaved and smooth like a baby bottom... seeing men with hairs make them crazy and by crazy I mean vomit-inducing crazy. They just felt grossed out with the fact that men have more hair on their body.

After that day my self-esteem become lower than it should have been, I have hair on my body like I was born as the brother or at least cousin of Chewbacca and I swear to myself that from now on I'm going to be hair-free to make sure people won't scream at the sight of me wearing only a hawaiian trunk.

The thing that I can get in the young age of 15 is the razor, the two-blade shaving razor. I spend like 6 hours removing what's left of my self-esteem. The result is amazing. My legs looked like porcelain (or maybe not). Then the painful part came, when the hair started to grow my legs is excruciatingly itchy, i started to scratch and when I start scratching my skin break down, Oh f***! ( I literally said it) my skin begin to bleed and I stopped shaving and decided to use...

WAX!!!!

well, not really a wax. it's actually Veet, the shaving cream for ladies. This one is less painful because it melt your hair (look at the picture above...) but to buy that one cream actually cost me a whole month of my allowance, back in the days I don't get to hold that much money.

Then, high school ends so those my hairless legs days, w... wait !!! It's not over... one of the girls in my class was looking at a magazine and guess what she said when she saw a picture of Hugh Jackman... "EEEEUWWW !!!!"

It's started all over again !!! so after that i went to the pharmacy and buy one of those things that Steve Carell use in the movie "40 Year Old Virgin", the only difference is he got an Asian lady to help him get thru it while I have to do it alone while my roommate is watching (he pretend not to see it tho')

So are girls really concern on the amount of hair a man has? I guess they are...

A House Is Not A Home

it was like a billion years ago since i last posted anything in here, well it happens that the new place I'm staying doesn't have internet connection so that explains the less blogging.

ok so i have given a clue that i am staying at new house apparently i got kicked out of college because i'm not active enough

this new house that i'm stayin in is actually kinda cool and i have my own room and a fridge so it's ok, the only thing that bother me is the fact that i need to pay the rent and the electric and water bill, but that were the only sucks factor and the rest of my time in this house is actually kinda fun.

i'm not gonna tell who my roomate are but they are cool people, and by cool I mean really cool they let me let my dishes unwashed for like several days. not that i'm too lazy to clean up myself but it was the sink that suffered some minor leakage.

ok so the title says it all, the house is not considered a home if you're not happy in it, so right now i'm happy to be in it, that's all thanks.

Burger King got the Whooper, and recently McD launched the double deal burgers which has extra slice of meat in it and KFC are catching on with their Zingers... we think "ok, wow extra large burger, more value" but what's happening in China in Taipei is actually a warning to all of us - bigger is not better... !

Dentists in Taiwan had been urging fast food chain restaurant to reduce the size of their burger following the increase of jaw injury cause by eating too large burger. The problem increased when people started to eat 8cm burger... amazing...

I never approved CROCS, I mean it is not stylish and too expensive, I won't spend my money on shoes that will make me look like Ronald McDonald and make my feet smelly. I don't even know why people still love this shoes despite it's flaws...

Crocs are ugly and that's a fact. It makes your feet look humongous. The shape of the shoes is inspired by the head of crocodile (crocs = crocodile, get it ?) and crocodile is not a cute reptiles. When I look at people wearing this I immediately thought that they are going to 'pasar' or wet market, it reminds me of people wearing those rubber boots ...

CROCS ARE F****** EXPENSIVE

Crocs are expensive and totally not worth the money, I don't even know why the price is so high when the shoes were only made from plastic. It is not a fashion statement and does nothing to improve anyone's style. Because of the price, fake Crocs (which are way cheaper but 90% similar to the real one) emerged. Can get one in pasar malam and no one can tell the difference actually. So when so many people wore it it makes the Crocs less cool to be worn.

CROCS MAKE YOUR FEET STINKS, LITERALLY !

This fact is based on my own experience hanging out with people that wear crocs whether the real or counterfeit one cause they are both equal in the ability to cause your feet to smell like unwashed clothes. This occur especially to people who sweat a lot and after the rain. All those holes in the crocs usually function as a signal to tell the people around you how smelly your feet is...

CROCS ARE HAZARDOUS

Ever saw the 'Crocs' sign on every elevator in new shopping mall? Why not flip flops or sandal, and why Crocs? The reason behind this is because Crocs had caused a lot of accident especially to children. Because of the nature of the shoes, which is rather flexible, the shoes tend to get stuck in the elevator. I'm not lying just Google it to see how many accident had happened in the name of Crocs.

5 Things I Hate About Akademi Fantasia

DISCLAIMER: I am actually a fan of this show but I just thought that this show can be better without all these 'cheesy' factors.

Just weeks after the latest season of Akademi Fantasia wrapped up, and things are not getting better and every season the producer just let the show do some things that makes me think that this show is getting worst ... so here are 5 things that I think can make AF better again if they are banished for good...

5. AFMASUK

AFMASUK is a ticket for those who were eliminated to get back into the competition regardless of how bad they are and as long as they have enough fan to support them the seat is theirs. This tradition is started in Season 2 when Linda Nanuwil was voted off early than fans think she should be, so they drag her back. And seasons after seasons the tradition continues... It's OK to vote in people who really got talent but when they voted in people who really deserved to go home (like the one pictured above) that's when this AFMASUK thing screwed up the whole show.

4. THE FAKE ELIMINATION WEEP

Every week one of the contestant will be send home after the end of the concert. When a person gets eliminated most probably the person will be the most people devastated but in AF it's not the case, most of the time it's the remaining contestant that will burst to their tears... but believe me it looks 110% fake. After few minutes later all of them will wipe their fake tears and started to waved happily and gleefully like nothing had happened...

3. THE ANNOYING CATCHPHRASE

Every contestant in AF must have at least one catchphrase, here are few example;

Mawi (AF 3) - World
Stacy (AF 6) - Alamak! Terlebih Sudah !
Felix (AF 3) - Susah Susah Aja
Faizal (AF 4) - Senyum Sokmo
Haziq (AF 4) - HAAZIQQQ....

Yup, look at the last person, Haziq, it must be hard for him to find the most original catchphrase or tagline that he can only used his name...

2. THE LOVE GAME

There will always be a lovebirds in every season of AF, if there wasn't the producer will try so hard to match make these poor contestants to the level that they were actually end up getting married.

This phrase, Buat Yang Terbaik will always exist in this show, contestant promised to do their best but end up doing the opposite, they are not even doing the best they could... so guys and gals who dreams to be in AF make sure next time you avoid this phrase what so ever...

Recently I've watched another crap from Brendan Fraser, and I really regret spending my RM12 on this movie. It was about a pack of animals trying to get their revenge on the now flabby Mr Brendan Fraser...

It wasn't about the fact that Brendan F is not as cool as he was yesteryears, but there plot and story line just doesn't work for me and it's as if they were trying too hard to make this movie funny. I'm not a big fan of this type of family comedy.

One more disturbing fact bout this movie is it's actually a family movie where parents and their innocent kids watch it together, but the scenes where you can see Brendan Fraser running around half naked (in tight and wet white undies) makes you wonder how this movie get past the rating process...

benda nie berlaku selepas agnes monica buat konsert dekat malaysia, so wartawan terkenal zubir mohd yunus dari berita harian sedang buat coverage about this konsert. so we all sedia maklum kan yang stacy nie dibandingkan dengan agnes monica sebab konsep muzik diorang hampir sama and both of the pandai menari, so the idea of getting them in a photo together is brilliant.

however... agnes monica marah2 bila dibagitau ada wartawan mau buat interview sama dia. bila penganjur bagitau dia pasal interview tu dia terus mengganas and she said "you raised ur voice to me and my management!". then bila she was told yang she will be taking picture with a popular malaysian artiste she was like "who the hell is this girl anyway!!!?"

kebetulan stacy was there to see the whole scene, of course la malu la ba kan kena cakap macam tue, so stacy pun bergambar juga lah dengan agnes, tapi agnes was treating her like she was nobody, dia tarik and grab stacy's arms time bergambar, menurut stacy it was painful. then lepas 2-3 snap agnes monica walk away like a diva bitch that she is... sorry agnes, i love u and ur music but i hate that attitude...

After like the longest week ever, I finally finished my test. Not gonna say that it's horrible but compare to what I've done last semester, this semester I am sure that my pointer will be somehow better than the previous one. I admit that I sucked at most of the paper but I tried my best and I haven't sleep for days so it's better worth it.

Waaa... It's been awhile already

It's been a while since I last wrote anything cool here, yes I've updated some stuff but just some random stuff which lack of awesome factor.

Anyway, my final exam has finished and it's a wrap for this semester and next semester will be busy because I have final year project coming. I have some sort of phobia with the lab because I have this nightmare that some random guy might spill acid to me.

And I was kicked out of my hostel for the next semester because they don't think I'm active enough and keeping me in will just be a hassle. Looks like I'm going to stay out of campus next semester.

Just wanna say happy holiday to everyone... see you next semester and keep reading this blog for random awesomeness, there will be a lot to talk about since I am going for my internship this holiday for 8 weeks. Gosh I wonder how it's gonna be???

K... so old news, I actually took ESE class this semester and for the final assessment we have to present a drama, one of my friend was playing a witch with a huge gown. Below is a picture of him (yes, he's a man) in the gown.

"Guy At The Right: This gown doubled as a mucus wiper"

The performance was of course not that average although it is still in amateur level, but it wasn't the performance that captured me, it was the gown. Below is a list of the Black Gown Doppelganger as I love to called it.

The gown had been worn by Miss Jay during a photo shoot in ANTM Cycle 5

It was also seen in Anak Betong (a TV show starring Sheila Rusly)

Another post as if anyone care, so basically I was in our library, it's exam week so I decided to find some peace in the quiet library.

I was on the way in when suddenly a woman cause the alarm to beep, then a guard try to stopped the women but the women just give a weak fake smile and walk off like a bitch she is.

The security try to warn her to give the book back but she just walk off like nothing happen, i mean that whole thing was actually caught on tape and I was wondering if the woman is going to get a punishment or not... and I wonder what book she stole...

Things That Might Happened If UNIMAS Banned facebook Part 1

Just in time when facebook is starting to grow (and stick!) in our heart (and brain!), there were rumors that UNIMAS will banned facebook access via its LAN, which means if we're using UNIMAS connection to browse facebook we will get na-da, nothing but just a page that told you that facebook is banned !

In order to prepare ourselves for this catastrophe, here a few ideas what might happened if this rumor is going to be true. Brace yourselves !!!

1. Morpheus will be 'in' again.

For those who doesn't know what MORPHEUS is, it's actually a portal for us, UNIMAS students to send our assignments and download lecture notes and stuff. Back when facebook is still something out of this world, people use MORPHEUS to post almost anything because it has a blog service for students to talk about almost anything. ~~Even 'gay bashing posts' were allowed at that day.~~ Sadly, since the dawn of facebook, people had forgotten about MORPHEUS...

" For outsiders, MORPHEUS looked like this"

But... MORPHEUS might be popular again if facebook is banned. Oh, remember those days when I used to get messages from my MORPHEUS account.

2. "Is that my coursemate syndrome?" will attacked

I have to admit that I did not know each and every name of my coursemate but the worst part is I don't even recognize their face. Here's an awkward example of this syndrome.

Time: Biotech Orientation Day

Place: Somewhere where the orientation is held

ME [with full confidence]: Hey, you must be the first year student. Come here and stay with the rest!

ALLEGED FIRST YEAR STUDENT (BUT ACTUALLY ONE OF MY COURSEMATE FROM THE SAME BATCH AS ME: But... I'm a 2nd year student.

ME [Turn around and pretend to be busy]: ....

The good thing about facebook is you can add anyone minus the awkwardness of breaking the ice and get to know each other. I have to say that some of my coursemate add me as a friend and since then whenever I saw them anywhere I'll be waving my hands without hesitation even, well at least we've 'poked' each other in facebook before.

But, if facebook is banned the whole world will start to become awkward again...

3. Many students will become depressed

Depression happened to students all the time. It could be cause by almost anything from exam to personal problems like relationship status.

Posting status updates in facebook is a way to release the tension of getting depressed and seeking attention as well.

If facebook is banned, then where would all these students go to when they need to tell everyone that their 'single' or they have 'complicated' relationship.

Glam-O-Tech 2010 : Dress To Kill or Kill The Dress ?

I don't even know when was the last time I blog, it seems like these days there weren't any stuff worthy enough to be in this blog, but I don't want people to say that I had given up on blogging cause I hadn't. So to all my fans (fans not followers, I barely got any followers...) here's a little something for you.

So last few months (I don't remember when, but who cares...) Biotech students had a special night, well it's some sort of annual dinner stuff. Lots of interesting thing going on but I just want to blog about the dressed that the girls wore that night, as if anyone cares.

Anyway, here's my take on some of the outfit that I find interesting and some that I found not that interesting and some are just plainly wrong. And don't even ask me to comment on the guys wardrobe because everyone looks the same...

I love that Marly choose something like this, it's not safe and it's not too risky either. It's matches her personality (cheerful). She doesn't want to try too hard to pop out and it works. The only problem is the shawl thingy - DITCH IT!

Tartan dress? I love the pattern of the dress it really suits Tatang and the big bow at the front add a little touch of femininity. This function had no strict dress code and I think Tatang can give a winning look if she messed up her hair ala Blair Waldorf and put on some striking lip color. That will make her look more Kat Von D in a softer kinda way.

Mimi

I was kinda frustrated because Mimi decided to look simple, there's nothing wrong with her look it's just there's nothing much to say about it.

Jacq

One word - WHOA! Jacq totally grab the spotlight that night. The hair looks high fashion and the dress makes her look great. The shawl color is perfect because it doesn't steal your attention from the dress.

I'm a Malaysian and I'm not really familiar with some English vocabulary and doesn't even give a damn about its meaning as long as it sounds good and make people say "He sounds f*cking smart".

I'm an undergraduate now and I have to gave lots and lots of presentation. One of the important part of a presentation is the introduction where it can goes like this...

"Good afternoon to [insert lecturer's name] and my fellow friends.."

or to make it sound nerdier

"A very good afternoon to our beloved [insert lecturer's name] and my fellow comrades.."

w-wait a sec, what's wrong with the second sentence? Other than it's useless addition of word it have a word that should not be used ... unless you're one of the member of the Communist party!!!

According to the dictionary comrades mean

"A fellow member of a group, especially a fellow member of Communist Party"

Word That Don't Mean What You Think: Tentative

In an attempt to write something in my blog even though I have run out of inspiration i decided to publish this post. It might not be a big issue but right now the word is mistakenly used widely even among the students in undergraduate level.

I didn't even realize the real meaning of the word until one of my lecturer pointed out about it.

... the word that I'm going to talk about is

"TENTATIVE"

"the first image upon googling for tentative"

Some people think it means:

usually used in Malay form as 'tentatif' and used to describe a list of program for a function, which shows the chronicle flow of the function. some people think it 'tentatif majlis' is a synonym for 'atur cara majlis' - apparently the 'some people' is including myself.

What it actually means:

made or done as a trial, experiment or attempt, unsure, uncertain, hesitant. In Kamus Dewan (A malay dictionary) it clearly stated that 'tentatif' means 'tidak muktamad' or 'masih boleh berubah'

even after being pointed out wrong by the lecturer, some of my friends were still using it wrongly and some even end up using it inside the Buku Atur Cara Majlis to describe the flow of the function.

I don't know how this confusion had started but the word 'tentatif program' can be used when pre-planning the program. when i saw it in the book they gave me during a function (which was attended by most VIP) i felt embarassed and i asked my friend why they were still making the mistakes and the reply was nobody cares about it. apparently the VIP is giggling there at their comfy couch, laughing at the stupidity of so called university students who doesn't give a shit about using proper vocabulary...

5 things I like about The Biggest Loser Asia

Everyone love reality shows. One of my fave is The Biggest Loser

I like The Biggest Loser because I like seeing plus-sized (notice that I always use plus-sized instead of the F word, I don't want to offend anyone) people get tortured. TBL is like an initiation for these people before they can be accepted into the community.

Finally in 2009, Hallmark Channel had come up with an Asia edition of The Biggest Loser Asia. I was a little skeptic about it at first because almost any American-based show failed once it was Asian-ated - remember Malaysian Idol?

After the first episode, which shows the audition across Asia it already captured my attention and I can't wait for the next episode to come. So here I'm going to share 5 things i love about this show - it's not in particular order tho'.

#5 Sarimah Ibrahim

Sarimah Ibrahim is the perfect choice for the job of hosting this show. Not only because she is a fluent English speaker and she looks Asian but also she kinda remind me of The host for American TBL, Caroline Rhea.

#4The show took place in Melaka (Malaysia)

I'm not a patriotic person, but when my country is put in an international television I will be most of the time proud of it. The opening credit for this show makes you think 'is this the biggest loser Asia or the biggest loser Malaysia'.

#3 Plus-sized people can finally contribute something to the Asian entertainment industry

It was a harsh reality because most of the time size is a matter in the entertainment industry, plus-sized people often failed to stay in the pedestal or they can only become either a host or comedian. With TBL, they finally can became a star of a reality show.

#2 The Drama is Too Real Too Be Edited

The first episode already cause drama when only few people are selected to be in the house. Most of the drama in the show involved health problems which is what we will see in the real world. Of course when 'these' people are put on a treadmill for the first time lots of things will happened.

Smokers dumber than Non-Smokers

The headline is the actual title of the article that I've read. It shows that we all are just dumb people but apparently smokers are the dumber one.

A study done in Israel on their military recruits proved that people who smoked have lower IQ compare to those who smoke less or don't smoke at all.

The earlier you started smoking the more of your intelligence level will dropped. I guessed this is one more reason for people to butt out.

I think this result of the study is true because I've seen smokers and most of them are dumb. For example, when they raised the price of a pack of cigarette, smokers still buy them although they realized that the government is ripping off their wallet.

Another example took place in my own campus, the 'No-Smoking' sign is posted on the wall and it was big enough for people to see. However these no-good-cancer-carrying-douche still smoke as if they never see the sign. I guess they saw the sign but were too dumb to know what it means...

5 Lame Attitudes That Makes You Refused To Bring The Person Out With You

So you're planning to go out on the weekends, partying is just to common so you decided to go to an island but you don't have anyone to bring with you.

Your girlfriend/boyfriend were up with their own plan and you don't want to make them think that you don't have your own life, then you told yourself, 'guess, i have to invite my friends then'.

unfortunately, you have like a thousands friends and your car can only squeezed in four more people - maximum. so you decided to thinned down the competition and choose the awesome four.

i'm not going to tell you how to choose the most awesome buddy to bring with you but instead, i'm going to guide you on people you should avoid bringing along.

it's pretty tough at first but once you started to see these five attitudes in that person,you know it's time to cross their names on your list.

#1 The Restless Complaint Machine

It's hot and your car air-cond doesn't work well, and these person started to complained and became restless through the whole journey making other feel uncomfortable as well.

This type of behavior will not only cause you to become stressed but also make other people concerned.

#2 The Choosy Eww-ed Face

It's in the middle of nowhere and the only restaurant you can find is a worn out stall.

Not confident about the food you decided to buy the water bottles and suddenly the person told you that he/she doesn't want to drink the bottled water because he/she was afraid of getting poisoned or something
.
You decide to drink the water from the bottle to prove nothing was wrong, unfortunately the person decided to be a choosy brat and give you an 'eww face'.

#3 The Person Who Needs Some Serious Red Bull Prescription

Above is a Red Bull drink, as we all know it's an energy drink, so #3 is a type of person who can't walk around over a period of time.

This can be apply to girls who often stereotyped as a weak creature compared to man but yet they are able to go around browsing the whole shopping mall without showing any sign of exhaustion.

Surely you don't want to bring along people who needs to take a seat once every 10 minutes.

#4 The Silent One

By silent, I meant the absolutely silent one where they only speak when you asked them something. First of all they contribute almost nothing to the trip (unless they have some skill which is relevant to your trip, but surely you don't want to bring this kinda person to a weekly karaoke session) and most of the time they are boring.

#5 The Risk Avoider

You already have something you want to do in mind - unfortunately you have to cancelled it because these person refused to do anything you're planning to do.

For example, refusing to eat sushi because he/she is scared that some shit will cause him/her some stomach upset.

Or refusing to go to the Fun Fair (Amusement park for those who're not familiar with the word fun fair) because he/she was afraid some Final Destination movie thing will happened.

One advise if you meet these kinda people - ditch 'em.

Public Display of Affection goes Online !!!

In my last post I was talking about the problem with public display of affection (PDA). This is a continuation of that post but now we're talking about online PDA.

with the emergence of social networking like twitter, facebook and myspace (can't believe people still hooked on myspace) people are now allowed to PDA-ed online. Of course this behavior is intended to show the public how much in love these lovebirds are.

so how does online PDA work?

the most common things these people do is posting their love and affection in their updates or shoutout.. in hopes that people will notice and give feedback... LAME...

another method is to upload their oh-so-lovey-dovey photo and tagged everyone in it... (this works in facebook most of the time)

i like to observed what people wear and i found it as an interesting sort of hobby... i'm not trying to be a fashion critic or anything because i admit that my personal style can sometime be trashy and will definitely get fine from the inspector of fashion department...

through my observation i felt something awkward when i see plus-sized people wear purple - especially dark purple. it kinda remind me of something that is not good.

something inside me told me that these people shouldn't wear purple, but i don't know why...

but now i finally found the answer thanks to my friend's keen observation.

one day i asked my friend " what is something that's big and purple"

she briefly answered " Barney, the dinosaur"

and suddenly my bulb lighten ! yes that's it !!! that's what makes it awkward all these time. they were reminding me of Barney...

looks like the weather won't be any sunnier anytime soon in Kuching...

I don't know why but i just liked the weather in Kuching right now, ~~although most people hate it, I somehow loved it.~~
Arggghhh... when will this rain stopped, my shoes are all muddy and wet. I spend most of my time walking whenever I go to class but since the rainy season started I have to take bus which means I have to wake up earlier.

On the contrary, looks like other places in Malaysia including the West and Sabah received less rain and more heat.. Sabah have 3 weeks of no rain while in the west of Malaysia drought is going on.

I'm not a pro in geography but isn't it weird when only Kuching recieved lots of rain. Please send some rain to the other places, they really needed them.

Hopefully heaven have internet access...

Are We Still Living On Tree Top (And Eat Worms)???

And by we, I mean 'we' (people living in Borneo)... that is a question raised by 'people who apparently does not live in Borneo'. So why don't we gave them the answer in a proper manner so they won't ask it again.

Answer:

Nope and never had been, until now there had been no historical evidence stated that we had lived on tree in the past. We might live in caves but cave is cave, it's not tree.

Even nowadays we lived in our own house but not on tree. Pay a visit to Kampung Budaya Sarawak, you won't see any tree top houses there...

(This makes me laugh) If we did, we are going to be in the Guinness for being the first one to swim across the South China Sea... The answer is we used aeroplane @ flight. Even jungle man have their limit, right?

Trivia: Flights from North Borneo to Malaya was available since 1956. No reason for us to swim

What do you eat for lunch? Worms?

Answer:
This can be true but not all true. Some indigenous people did make worm as their delicacy but not every tribes in Borneo though. The worm is a sago worm which is a larvae found in sago tree. Sago is the white transparent thing you eat in your Bubur Lambuk. Although it's a food, we don't get to eat it during lunch. It can be considered as a gourmet food like escargot (snail) to the French.

That's 3 of the questions, there are more but I only posted this because these are the most popular questions. My friends told me that she was asked this question when she first came there. Shocking but true.

Now it's our turn to ask question... why do they asked us this? I came up with my own theories.

They trying to be funny - Different people have different sense of humor, apparently they thought this was funny, well my first impression when they asked me this was, " These guys are ~~stupid~~ hilarious"

They were given false education - We can't blame them for not knowing because they don't live with us, it's normal for them to ask. But how did they come up with such assumption, maybe they saw it in a documentary and got confused or maybe Alphonso d Albuquerque or Francis Light told them this.

They mistaken us for barbarian or vikings or Spartans - They really thought we came to the west by swimming, sounds crazy but maybe they thought us to be a strong race with nothing but physical strength. Maybe they thought Sabahan babies are pushed to the cliff of Mount Kinabalu as a rites of passage (remember 300)

They've watched Survivor (First Season) - The first season of this hit award-winning reality show was held in Borneo. It showcased Americans living on Borneo and trying to survived as an outcast. Maybe they've watched this show and assumed that Borneo people lived like that

Car Drama, Birthday Muffins and Red Faces

This week in The Bridge @ UNIMAS...

The election day for MPP was held on Thursday apparently there were no candidates that I have to vote for so I skipped it.

The highlight event for the week was Friday because other than lab session it was Jenny's birthday (29 January!). I skipped class because I have to finished my assignments.

There is no way I'm going to missed this function, after I've been excluded in two birthday party because of two reasons I'm a male and I still obey my mother's warning.

Car Drama

Unfortunately the car that we rent for the event was not supposed to be ours to rent. Stress!

The traffic jam was insane plus it's raining, the car brake is not properly working and hey the fuel meter is broken! Perfect recipe for disaster, and our driver had just recovered from a traumatic car incident... Stress !

Birthday Muffins

the birthday is held in Hilton, yep one of Paris Hilton's grandfather's hotel...
we sort of trying to break tradition a bit so we served birthday muffins instead of birthday cakes...

That's the muffins !!! Notice the glass of orange juice far left (above) that thing cost more than my 1 month phone bill....

I admit that it was a lil bit intimidating eating in Hilton because we don't have this kinda thing in Tenom (FYI Tenom is a district in Sabah). We enjoyed the foods and the ambience there.

Red Faces

I arrived in UNIMAS late because of the traffic jam, faces are all red because we were running... and during the intervals we went around forcing people to get red faces...

Anyway it's a great week...

kids nowadays are sluttier !!!

forgive me for the offensive title but i think people will agree with the headline after they read this post.
when i say kids, i mean those who age 5 years to 12 years old.

i was babysitting during the semester break, i thought the job could be easy cos the kid is an 8 year old girl but i was totally wrong.

my first task is to cook for her, so I'm like I should give her sandwich for breakfast and some fried frozen food with rice for lunch (I'm not a good cook, so that's the only option). so i give her the sandwich which is a simple peanut butter and kaya sandwich and she refused to eat it because she simply hate it. instead of eating what i gave her she gave me a list of what she wants me to prepare for her.

Breakfast:

Egg Sandwich with generous amount of mayonnaise, cheddar cheese and ketchup with 1:1:2 ratio respectively.
Orange Juice
Hot Chocolate Malt (aka MILO)

Lunch:

I know you are cooking spaghetti but I hate it so I want something else.

Apparently, I was thinking about cooking spaghetti that day but have to crossed it due to the kid's demand.

Western breakfast set for lunch
Orange Juice
Neapolitan Ice-Cream with chocolate chip (I have to grind some Chipsmore first)

That is what I should give them for their lunch and breakfast or else they won't eat, and you know what happened when kids are hungry... they bite you!
I mean where does these kids learn how to demand like that, Mariah Carey perhaps...

The episode doesn't end there, one day she was wearing this outfit which shows her belly button, so I told her that the clothes were to small for her but she replied that the dress is made that way. For what??? I was shocked to see these little girls wear something worn by Britney Spears circa 2000...

Children as little as 5 now wants to have their own reality TV, since when do the old days 'masak-masak' game turned into family drama.

I was watching my nephew and niece playing and they were acting as mother and a child. The child were (played by my nephew) fighting with his mom because his mom were using her photo without her permission... sounds familiar? Yep that's cause they were depicting an episode from the Kardashian's reality show.

What's more, my niece now dancing like a stripper whenever PCD song popped out on MTV...

What will happened to these poor kid when they grow up... anyway they are just kids they know one day being w***** is not worth it unless you're Paris Hilton.

one of the most reported person in TGG is nancy, last time we covered on her marriage with her beloved husband, Michael.

Well, recently Nancy posted pictures of herself (with a baby bump!!!) on her facebook site, unfortunately I still haven't got permission to use the picture in my site.
I can describe the pic if you want, of course Nancy look bloomed and one source say she gain weight and Nancy is always known to have being size 0 and being pregnant gives her this new glow we never seen before this.

are they or are they not?

one of our power couple had split! true or false, we don't even know cause both of them haven't talk about it yet. but rumors had been circulated that they have been doing less stuff together and spend more time apart. they act like nothing happened and that was just an act they pulled to cover up their split...

one source told that, both of them who used to do almost everything together had been doing stuff separately.

"I've seen one of them walk to class alone, and try to avoid questions about the other person whereabouts by hiding herself," one source told TGG.

When the class ends and the crowd disappeared, they both go their separate ways but they are still sitting together during lecture, so it's kinda hard to tell and still no one have the guts to ask any of them aware how sensitive those two emotionally (yup, I've witnessed it myself)...

Anyway, we wish for the best for both of them, hopefully the breakup news was just a rumor.. Look at this space for the couples' update in the future
