MERRY BELATED CHRISTMAS

I hope it's not too late for me to wish y'all reader a very Merry Christmas ...

I was too busy preparing for my open house, which was a blast... though the number of guests is declining (my favorite cousin was too busy too come).

We all know that YNTM has ended (Congratulations Jane), that particular thing has gotten me busy for the whole December.

This year I can sense that the Christmas spirit has gone down a bit, our Candle Lite Night at church is one visible proof of it. Last Christmas, we have 12 group of carolers participated but this year there were only four, and judging by the quality of their performance we can tell that they're not all into it.

However the amount of legs we can see during the Xmas Eve and Xmas Day mass was increasing, thanks to more affordable razor and hair remover.

Enough with the sarcasm , all I can say is I enjoy this Christmas becacuse it's a different feel compare to the previous years... anyway, happy holidays

R.I.P. - Brittany Murphy

On Sunday, December 20, 2010 actress Brittany Murphy passed away.

Brittany starred in movie like 8 Mile, may her soul rest in peace.

YNTM Finale: Yey's Next Top Model Is...

After 2 weeks delay (I was busy with the Christmas preparation and stuff), YNTM is back !!! It's the season finale you guys, so we're going to know who'gonna be crowned as the next top model...

Just a brief news from the world of pageants, Miss Gibraltar, Miss Kaiane Aldorino won Miss World 2009, yay!!!

So last time in the double elimination episode of YNTM (back to YNTM guys...), the-oh-so-cheerful-Patsy and the-oh-so-confident-Lora were eliminated, poor them... one more steps to become the winner and POOF! Atan decided to send them home...

The Top 2 are oh-so-blonde-Jane and the oh-so-charming-Sheilla. Before that I'm going to introduce both of the girls briefly and why do they deserve to be on top.

First, we have Sheilla a down to earth girl, who shines at the near end of the competition with her sell-able quality, she shines in her commercial, but will she be able to do high fashion?

Then, we have Jane, the outspoken girl from a small town. With a big dreams she has the drive to excel in the competition but her confidence often mistaken as arrogance, can she take the title without letting her personality stand in her way?

We're gonna find out soon...

Atan Visited The Girls

Atan visited the girls to have a personal talk with them, this is not just an ordinary chit-chat, in this, Atan was able to see who has more passion to become YNTM

Sheilla talks about her family and their influence to her, she have go against all odds to do what she has done today. She proved to Atan that she has the strength and it shows in her performance. She takes good picture week to week and shows consistency.

Jane who claimed that every week in the house was a challenge for her, she admitted that she dislikes her makeover, but she get over it and do her best.

Atan agreed with her that a model shouldn't let stuff like haircut as a barrier for them to do their best. Jane explains to Atan that she's real all the time and doesn't want the judges to see her as fake.

Atan left the girls with an Atan Mail, which contained their script for tomorrow assignment, Cover Gurl Commercial !!!

The Commercial

The girls are in Paris and what's more perfect to do a commercial than in the busy Cafe in the streets of Paris.

They have to portray two Parisian aristocrats trying to flirt with Parisian men, they have to say a bit French and kiss the French guy.

Sheilla was too shy to do the kissing scene, she have problem to pronounce the French words. She keeps smiling all the time and manage to keep her energy high.

Jane have problem with kissing other guy than her boyfriend, moreover she never kiss a scruffy dude before. That didn't held her back tho as both of them done a really good job, Jane's French is even convincing...

The day doesn't end there, the girl continue with their Cover Gurl print ad photoshoot... which was shot by one of the judges...

Both of them do great job.... the cosmetic that they're advertising is one of Cover Gurl latest line the Glo Lip Gloss, which is claimed to make your lips glow... the product is aimed for women age 18 - 30...

Even Ash, winner of the first season is there to give them moral support

The Runway a.k.a Final Challenge

Now it comes to one of the most important aspect of YNTM, the runway challenge, this time Sheilla and Jane is doing a fashion show for a new designer in Paris, CoCo LaBouche

Skipped the Ms Carl and Ms Wan parts, the day of the runway show is happening, Sheilla and Jane were kinda shock to be at the backstage of a real runway show... the theme of the design is simply street chic plus some couture-ish type of style which I don't have any idea what's it all about...

The show was opened by Ash, winner of YNTM Season 1

So far both of them do well in the runway, Sheilla got a bit problem dressing up quick and almost trip on her way but she quickly pick up her pace.

Jane doing it like a pro, even the designer was satisfied with her overall performance...

The evening was a blast for both of them, and they have make Atan proud...

The Judging

Both Sheilla and Jane wears designer clothes at the judging, there are no guest judge as Atan claimed that only the judges that know them from day one can decide the winner.

They were judged based on their portfolio, commercial and runway walk.

First, is their Cover Gurl commercial, both of them was doing great, tho both of them showing some weakness. Sheilla have problem with her diction (anyone have problem speaking French) and Jane's smiles sometimes came across as to fake.

Sheilla was a bit shy in the photo while Jane wins this round by showing her darker side...

Portfolio #2, Ghost Shoot

Once again Jane ruled this photoshoot, but Sheilla was praised as despite her phobia she managed to go on with the photoshoot.

Portfolio #3,Summer Beach Shoot

Sheilla was the best in this one, although Jane did quite well too.

Portfolio #4, Paris Shoot (Handbags)

Sheilla shows her couture-ity in this one, everything works well for her. Jane has a good but not great picture.

Portfolio #5, Cover Gurl

They both done equally well, it makes the judges decision quite hard.

The Runway

Sheilla have the face of high fashion and Jane has fierce walk, Sheilla have problem at the backstage but the way she handle the stress was praised, Jane may not be suitable for Paris but she can do well in Milan.

So, who's the winner?

After much deliberation, the judges agreed that the winner of Yey's Next Top Model is...

JANE !!!

After the announcement, teary eyed Sheilla was comforted by Atan, despite her loss Sheilla thought that Jane deserve the win and support her.

Then, new winner of YNTM, Jane celebrated her victory with the judges...

"I'm Yey's Next Top Model... Yay!!!!"

Jane was chosen as the winner for her high classy look and fabulous portfolio, she's versatile and also a good runway model...

CONGRATULATIONS JANE !!!

New Year, New Show, New Attitude

Few more days before 2010, thegossipgeek will be re-branded, no more messing around with other people lives, one of my new year resolution is I want to stop jeopardizing my relationship with other people, plus I'm not Erin Silver...

so starting on New Year's Eve, I'll be presenting a new blog shows called The Bridge, which is a story about friendship set in the one and only UNIMAS, my beloved campus...

I've been building the plot since early of the year, but I'm too busy with Yey's Next Top Model, with YNTM Season 2 ending soon I will have time to work on The Bridge... I like to create drama, so creating a real one will mess my life so why not create a fictional drama with fictional character based on non-fictional story. The main character will be a women, cause there are so many drama that I can create with this gender... a male character won't be as expressive as a female one, right now I'm still searching my lead role, any suggestion?

more sneak preview, next year this blog will still be your hub of stress-relief, i'll still keep some column but some column will be ended due of the low ratings...

greed has gotten me

we never know how far someone can go for money,

my friend rented off his beloved car so he can eat, by the end of the day he complained about how he hate it so much, how he hate the foreign smell after his car is returned.

same thing goes to me, I've been warned and I've read it in the news but desperation leads me to mistakes that i regret doing until now.

I've gave my account number to some stranger who told me that he will pay me small amount of money if I've done some simple job.

I just gave the account number cause I was like what's the worse could happened if the guy know my account number, I was so naive, it's 2000s people can do anything with all the technology and stuff... so recently I've learned that people can actually steal from your bank given that they know your account number

it takes time, 3 months your account is good, no scratch... and few months later... POOF!!! everything's gone. I've learned that the thief only need your account number and in times they will try to figured out your account router number (have no idea what that is), once they've figured that out they will steal every cents in your bank.

I don't know whether this is some conspiracy theory or whatever, but i can imagine the worst case scenario that could happened, i'm so stupid, now i need to open a new account and close this account, that's the only thing i can do now... so guys when someone that's hard to be trusted asked for your account number, think again, you may gain something today but you'll lose a lot tomorrow...

TAYLOR'S WEEKLY WRAPPED UP

It's the first week of December, it's the month of Advent and soon Christmas will come, it's holiday month but all I do is spend my month vacation staying home babysitting my nephew and niece... you thought it was boring, NOOO !!! I got plenty activities done for the whole week.

I've decorated our Christmas tree, which I think is too small for our living room. the 5' tree needs a little makeover this year, so I feel like giving a twist in its design by putting flowers instead of typical Christmas ornament and what do I got for all that effort, my mum think the whole idea of making a Christmas Tree looked like Cherry Blossom is nonsense. In the end, I have to stick up with the common design., boring but at least it saves my ear from hearing all those critiques made by the carolers.

Speaking about caroling, as usual i wasn't invited to joined (again!!!), I wasn't thinking about doing carols for my neighborhood this year anyway...

I'm too addicted to Lady Gaga, caroling wasn't in my mind at all

This year, i thought we've bought too much Christmas garlands, so I decorated our kitchen to make it look more festive, i'd like to show y'all some pics but that will make my parents upset.

Yes, I'm watching GLEE, the mid season finale will be next week, can't wait for that episode.

I'm using my sister's children as my guinea pig for my latest recipe, which is McFlurry... it's like watching Hell Kitchen, i just screamed at them and they all do the work, it doesn't matter if they do good or bad, all I know is I need to scream and cuss... nasty... my 5 year old nephew's hand was all red from smashing the cookies into pieces, yup we're making Oreo McFlurry... I'm an evil uncle...

On Saturday, Ebi Kornelis from Akademi Fantasia 5 came here for the programme held by Sabah Agricultural Park... he's really engaging with the crowd, and I think he gains a lot of weight. If I were him I will fired my make-up artist for making his face looked pale - in a bad way that is. I know it's the season of vampire but seriously, man doesn't look good with 1 inch layer of powder in their face.

FYI, Ebi is the guy with the Dutch Lady hat and I have to be honest that Starry shirt won't make you look thinner Ebi

Star World (Astro CH711) is showing re-runs of 90210 (Season 1), I never thought the show can be addictive, I just want to watch another episodes, in fact I am downloading the episodes of Season 2.

I've got myself a haircut on Sunday, i regret it but I paid RM8 for it, so I think it's worth it. Now i looked like New Kids From The Block in their earlier days...

Yup, that's my new hairstyle, only less curlier
